OK, maybe not my soul, but it is certainly making me it's bitch right now. I have to say this is one of the most challenging things I have done, but damn it feels good. I'm actually writing. For Real. This is only day nine and my word total is 20,253. That is more than I have ever written on a project before, and it took WAY longer than nine days. Here's the best part: I don't think it's total crap. I think I actually like what I have written. When I started I thought I would aim for the 50,000 word goal, but would be more than pleased to end up with 20-30 thousand. I was trying to be realistic. It is, after all, my first attempt at NaNo. Now, unless something horrible like writers block occurs, I should be able to meet the official goal.

Shocked, I tell you. Shocked!

I think more high school boys might be willing to learn how to dance if they realized they could do this someday...

Holy hottness! Could I please find me one like that?

Could it be? Is it too early to believe what they are saying on TV? Seriously?

Seriously fucking awesome. We are witnessing history. Hope. Change. Just... wow.

Um, yeah. I'm not dead, just an LJ ghost.

So Halloween can come and gone. I LOVE Halloween. I hate being at school on Halloween. The kids are bonkers. Seriously. We do a costume parade where the kids walk all the way around the outside of the building. Parents hang out and take pictures. It is cute. I think the parents get more of a kick out of seeing the teachers in costumes than seeing the children. I had many "That costume is perfectly you!" comments this year. Just like last year, I asked one of the moms from my school to make my outfit. She is a costume designer for local theater companies. She is just amazing. Last year I was Inara from Firefly (the exact dress she wore in the ep Jaynestown). This year I was a fairy. My hair is now super short so the fairy/pixie idea seemed perfect. The dress ended up being green, so all the kids thought I was Tinker Bell. (Although one kid said I was Tinker Bell's friend since I didn't look quite like her. I think he was being nice and not mentioning that I am much older than Tink.) It was so pretty. I need to make sure to wrap up the dress and store it well so that I can wear it again in the future. This is definitely a costume to wear for school in the future (especially if I have a costume for parties that ends up not being school appropriate.)

Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo. Have I written anything yet? Hell no. Why would I do that? Why would I stick to my plan of getting up early and writing? That would make sense. Instead I have wasted my day doing absolutely nothing. Well, I was doing some research. Of course, it had nothing to do with my NaNo project. Because I am dumb.

Instead I have spent my morning and afternoon looking into the G1, T-Mobile's new competition against the iPhone. I am already with T-Mo and would not have to switch service. It looks promising, even if it is not up to iPhone standards just yet. I do like that it is an Android device. There are only a handful of apps available at the moment, but the release date for the G1 is technically Nov. 3rd. For the first 90 days all the apps are free. This means the really good apps won't be available until Feb/March when the developers can begin charging for them. My hope is that there will be an ereader/ebook app released. I would LOVE to have phone/mp3/web/ebook/etc. all in one. The price is comparable to the 8GB iPhone and the service plan would be cheaper since I could keep my current plan and just add the data plan. There is the issue of storage space (it uses an SD card and has limited internal memory) and I have heard that the battery life is less than desirable. I don't know. I called and spoke with a rep at T-Mo, and she was wonderful. They really do have great customer service and I rarely have issues with my cell service. (There is just this one drop spot on the Kennedy.) I am tempted. SORELY tempted.

I don't know if any of you watch the show Bones, but I need some filling in over here. I have watched all of season 1 and 2. Somehow I missed almost all of season 3. I have two questions:

1) What exactly happened between Angela and Hodgins? Why aren't they married and happy and having beautiful babies?

2) Are you f-ing serious? Zack? In league with The Gormagon? For serious??!!?!?!?!!!?

Like most people I know, I have been glued to the TV watching the Olympics. There have been good moments and bad. Medals won, medals lost. We have witnessed new world records and disgustingly over the top ass kissing Mr. Phelps has received. (Yes, he is great, but what about the other athletes?) There is the controversy over the age of the Chinese gymnasts. In the past we have had athletes disqualified because their blood work tested possitive for banned substances. This is all annoying, yet we somehow expect this sort of thing to happen. BUT, I just heard about something that makes me f*ing angry. Four of the equestrian athletes have been disqualified for banned substances in blood... drawn from their horses. Their HORSES!!! These people are pumping their animals full of steroids and other chemicals (one that makes the animal's skin hypersensitive so that they won't touch the bars they are jumping over, never mind the pain they are in from the saddle and other tack they must wear.) It is wrong for an athlete to make the choice for themself to take performance enhancing drugs. They are able to make that decision. These animals have no choice. None. This is a decision made for them. A decision that causes them discomfort. Not only is it not fair in the competition, but it unconscionable treatment of animals. I just... there are not enough words.

One of the things that I love about SYTYCD is the fact that I discover new(-to-me) songs and artists. Of all the music I have snagged because of that show, I think these performers are my favorites.

This one has a long intro, but hang in there!

I love Wade Robson, BUT... I think he may have jumped the shark (if that is possible in dance.) Why do I say that? I give you an excert of his choreo for the Cirque/Chris Angel show in Vegas.

Sorry the quality sucks. It was the only one posted that I could find.

Wrong and bad. She should have been in the finals. He should not have had to leave yet.

(On a possitive note, Gev's solo. Breaking to Michael Buble? FABulous!)
